The list appears in the just-published Southern California Super Lawyers Magazine and in special inserts in the New York Times, Feb. 8, 2009, Southern California edition and the Feb. 2009 issue of Los Angeles Magazine.
Only five percent of Southern California attorneys (excluding San Diego) have been named to the prestigious list which will be seen by 650,000 readers. The Southern California Super Lawyers Magazine is mailed to active Southern California attorneys, nationwide to the lead corporate counsel of the Russell 3000 companies and ABA-approved law school libraries. The selection process is based on peer nominations, blue ribbon panel review and independent research.
Becker chairs Nordman Cormany Hair & Compton LLP’s Business Law Group and General Counsel Services Group and practices in the areas of business and corporate law, employment law and intellectual property law. She is a member of the board of directors of the American Red Cross of Ventura County.
Dickinson practices in business litigation, Internet law, trademark and copyright litigation and transactional matters and chairs the firm’s Intellectual Property Law Group. He has trial experience in a variety of complex business disputes, particularly those involving trade secrets and unfair competition. Dickinson is a frequent speaker on legal protection of proprietary information and other topics, serves on the board of directors of the Ventura County Taxpayers Association and is a leader in Cub Scout Pack 3176, Boy Scouts of America.
Gill’s areas of practice include civil litigation, banking, real estate, bankruptcy, commercial transactions, creditors' rights and general business law. A member of the Ventura County Bar Association, the State Bar of California and the Ventura County Trial Lawyers Association, Gill has also served as Director of the Ventura Chamber of Commerce and is a member of the Commercial Law League. He served as Ventura County Deputy District Attorney, 1966-1968. Hines practices in the areas of employment and labor law litigation; major will, trust and probate litigation; partnership, corporate and shareholder litigation; and business tort litigation, and chairs the firm’s Family Law Group. He has served as advisory counsel for numerous nonprofit organizations in Ventura County and has served on the board of directors of Food Share, Inc. Hines is the founder and president of the Nadine Griffey Academy of Kenya, which is building a primary boarding school for orphans in Nairobi, Kenya.
Light has more than 27 years’ experience in the practice of employment law and chairs the firm’s Employment Law Group. He has been selected twice for Pacific Coast Business Times’ “Who's Who in Professional Services.” He consults with more than 250 companies throughout California on their day-to-day employment law needs and is an experienced trial attorney. Light is a frequent lecturer, past president of the Ventura County Bar Association and board member of the Discovery Center. He is the author of the nationally acclaimed and award-winning book, The Cultural Encyclopedia of Baseball.
Mark has 37 years of experience as a litigation attorney with trial work in all California state and federal courts. In addition to chairing the firm’s Litigation Group, he is also a member of several other law groups, including creditor’s rights and bankruptcy, intellectual property, and oil and gas. Mark was a charter member of the Los Angeles Association of Business Trial Lawyers. He currently serves on the board of directors for the Ventura County Bar Association and has served on the Los Angeles Chapter board of directors for the Federal Bar Association. Mark is a former member of the board of directors of the American Youth Soccer Organization.
Winfield practices in the areas of general business law, civil litigation, real property, landlord/tenant, securities, oil and gas, bankruptcy and creditor/debtor rights and chairs three of the firm’s practice groups. He is board certified in Business Bankruptcy and has served as a Visiting Deputy District Attorney for the County of Ventura. Winfield is an arbitrator for the National Association of Securities Dealers and the Ventura County Superior Court, where he has also served as a visiting judge. He is a member of the California Bankruptcy Forum, the Los Angeles Bankruptcy Forum, the Commercial Law League of America and the American Bankruptcy Institute.
