
Mr. O’Brien practices in the area of general civil, real estate and business litigation.
Mr. O'Brien is a member of the State Bar of California and the Ventura County Bar Association (Real Property Section), for which he was Secretary-Treasurer in 1983. He has been a member of the Ventura County Trial Lawyers Association Board of Directors, serving as Second Vice President in 1982 and President in 1983. Mr. O'Brien is a graduate of the advanced course of the National Institute for Trial Advocacy.
Mr. O'Brien has served on the Board of Directors of The United Way of Ventura County, serving as Vice Chairman from 1998 to 1999. He served as Chairman in July of 1999.
Mr. O'Brien graduated cum laude from Seattle University (B.A. 1969). His legal training was received at Loyola University of Los Angeles (J.D. 1973), where he was a member of the Loyola University Law Review, 1972-1973.
Michael O'Brien was born in Ventura, California. He played varsity basketball and baseball in college, and his current interests include tennis, Pilates and walking. He has two adult children, Katy and Chris.
