
MEENA KOTAK practices primarily in the areas of estate planning, trust administration and probate. Ms. Kotak counsels and advises clients to achieve the clients’ estate planning objectives and she assists clients with implementing the estate plan. She also assists clients with administering and distributing trusts and probating decedents’ estates. Ms. Kotak handles guardian and conservatorship matters and also assists clients with the preparation and filing of federal estate tax returns. In addition, she assists non-profit organizations with formation and application for tax-exempt status.
Prior to joining NCHC, Ms. Kotak practiced in the area of estate planning, probate, conservatorship, and elder law for three years with a firm in West Hills. While there, she assisted clients with all phases of estate planning and trust administration, beginning with drafting and implementing the initial estate plan and concluding with closing the estate by preparation of fiduciary accountings and distribution. Within her first year of practice, she was responsible for management of the law practice and balanced the practice of law with the business of law.
Ms. Kotak’s affiliations include the Estate Planning & Probate section and the Taxation section of the Ventura County Bar Association, the Southern California Council of Elder Law Attorneys and the Los Angeles County Bar Association. Ms. Kotak also serves on the Board of Directors of the Oxnard Police Foundation.
Ms. Kotak earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and her legal degree from Pepperdine University. During her undergraduate studies, she participated in two different study-abroad programs and traveled to most countries in Europe. In law school, Ms. Kotak focused on courses related to estate planning and estate and gift taxation.
Ms. Kotak was born and raised in Minnesota.
