Professional Experience
Tami Cook is a member of the Executive Committee of Nordman Cormany Hair & Compton LLP, Ventura County's largest full-service law firm. Her expertise and guidance is key to the Firm's ability to serve hundreds of businesses and individuals across the state, continuing its 70-year tradition of quality legal service to its clients. Tami is responsible for the day-to-day operations and long term strategic planning for the Firm, working closely with partners, associates and staff to create an efficient, cohesive team. She joined the Firm in 1991 as Controller, was promoted to the position of Chief Financial Officer in 1996 and became the Firm’s first Chief Executive Officer in 2003. Tami has been named as one of the "Top 50 Women in Business" by the Pacific Coast Business Times for 2011, 2010 and 2009.
Prior to joining the firm, Tami worked as a Senior Financial Analyst, Auditor and Controller for international companies. Aside from her role as the Firm's chief executive, Tami is an industry leader. She has been actively involved in the Association of Legal Administrators and is a member of the American Bar Association, Law Practice Management section. She has spoken at numerous legal conferences on issues related to technology and law firm management, and serves on review panels for software specifically developed for law firms.
Community
Tami is active in the Ventura County community, serving on the boards for Ventura Breakers Basketball, the Ventura County Youth Basketball Conference and several Ventura Unified School District Parent Teacher Associations. In addition, she participates in several other nonprofit and community endeavors such as the California Strawberry Festival and Children’s Miracle Network.
Education
Tami is a graduate of North Carolina State University, where she participated in the Chancellor’s Red Coat Ambassadors Program, and earned a B.S. in Accounting.
Personal
Tami is a native Californian who lived coast to coast and many places in between while growing up. She currently lives in Ventura with her husband of over twenty years, Chris. They have a daughter studying at the University of Colorado and a son who attends Buena High School. In her spare time, Tami enjoys the beach with her two Golden Retrievers and attending her son’s athletic events.
